Publishing Inventory Items

Hubdoc supports the ability to publish inventory items to your cloud accounting software. 

Hubdoc's inventory tools can be found in the line items window. Click here for instructions on how to find and use the line items window.

Publishing inventory items works slightly differently for Quickbooks Online, Xero and Bill.com, as Hubdoc mirrors how inventory items are used in each application. Below is an explanation of how to publish inventory items to each application.

Quickbooks Online

In the line items window, click the "Item Details" link to expand and view the inventory item section.

Click on the Product/Service dropdown on the far left side of the window. This dropdown will be auto-populated by all of your items in Quickbooks Online.

When you select an item, the description and rate fields will be automatically updated with the details from that item. You can now update the quantity and other fields to match the details in your document.

Note that account codes cannot be viewed or changed for inventory items in Hubdoc because they are pre-set for each item in Quickbooks Online. If you would like to change the account code for an item, this must be done in your Quickbooks Online settings.

Xero

In the line items window, click on the Items dropdown on the far left side of the window. This dropdown will be auto-populated by all of your items from Xero. 

When you select an item, the description, unit price, category and tax rate fields will be automatically updated with the details from that item. You can now update the quantity and other fields to match the details in your document.

Please note: Hubdoc currently only integrates with purchased untracked inventory items in Xero.

Bill.com

In the line items window, click the "Item" link to expand and view the inventory item section.

Click on the Item dropdown on the far left side of the window. This dropdown will be auto-populated with all of your items from Bill.com.

When you select an item, the description and unit cost fields will be automatically updated with the details from that item. You can now update the quantity and other fields to match the details in your document.
